About this Program
This program provides coverage for your personal property if you are named on the Lease and have enrolled in the Program via the online enrollment page.
Depending on the option you choose, you will have one of the following coverages:
- $5,000 limit on personal property and $1,500 loss of use
- $10,000 limit on personal property and $1,500 loss of use
*Loss of use refers to a situation where you are forced to move out of your unit due to an incident and need to find alternative living arrangements.
What losses are covered?
If you enroll in the following personal property contents protection program, you may receive reimbursement for physical loss or damage to your personal property caused by the following:
- Fire and Lightning;
- Windstorm, hail, tornado, hurricane (certain exclusions are set forth in the policy), explosion, sonic boom, aircraft, self-propelled missiles, spacecraft, vehicles, smoke, volcanic eruption, riot, strike or civil commotion;
- Falling objects provided the building is first damaged by such falling objects, weight of ice, snow or sleet;
- Collapse of buildings or any part thereof;
- Water damage; or
- Burglary (certain exclusions are set forth in the policy)
What is the deductible?
$500 per occurrence
How to pay?
The premium, taxes and fees relating to your enrollment in this Program are paid at the time of enrollment via our online payment portal. This Program is paid for on an annual basis. If you extend your lease beyond 1 year, you will need to submit payment again next year. If you fail to remit payment, you will not have coverage under this Program.
How to File a Claim
In the event you wish to make a claim under this policy, you must submit details of the loss by clicking the “File a Claim” button on this page or by sending an email to claims@habitatspecialty.io and specifying your name, email, phone, the date of loss and the claim amount.
