Right now we only offer yearlong policies. But if your lease is shorter than a year, just make sure you set a reminder to cancel (we won't charge you any penalties or fees). Have a longer lease? We automatically renew your policy each year so you don't have to worry.
If you're in one of our partner communities you don't need to worry about the minimum liability coverage you're required to have. Our policies are custom-made for you, so you know you’re getting the right protection.
Renter's insurance is made up of three different types of coverage: personal property coverage, which covers your personal property if it is stolen or damaged by a covered peril (like fire, vandalism, or short-circuit damage); liability coverage, which protects you if you damage someone else’s property or cause someone injury; and loss-of-use coverage, which covers the cost of living elsewhere if your home becomes temporarily uninhabitable.

The short answer is yes, but we suggest adding their name to your policy. You'll be happy to know that your renters policy automatically covers all residents of your household who are related to you by marriage, blood, or adoption.
